Syrian Identity between Homeland and Exile
The mass displacement of Syrians is transforming Syria as a country and Syrians as individuals.
What does it mean to be Syrian today?
What is the meaning of identity and belonging for those no longer in the homeland, and what should they be?
In this workshop, we created a safe space for people to come together and share experiences with the goal of exchanging ideas about concerns affecting all Syrians as they navigate the current phase.
The workshop was conducted by Hiwarat (formerly Friedenskreis Syrien) in collaboration with Dr. Wendy Pearlman, Associate Professor of Political Science at Northwestern University, and Salam Kultur und Sport Verein
Language: Arabic
When: 14.08.2018 at 18:30 till 21:00
Where: Salam Kultur und Sport Verein, Buttmannstraße 9A, 13357 Berlin
The participants had to bring a picture (photo or a drawing) which represents what Syria meant for them.
